Oman Air, Oman’s national airline, has entered into a strategic partnership with Mazoon Dairy, a leading dairy company based in Al Buraimi, Oman. This collaboration aims to enhance local self-sufficiency by sourcing dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, laban, and cheese from within the country. The agreement strengthens Oman Air’s commitment to In-Country Value (ICV) and supports the national economy by prioritizing domestic suppliers.
Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman, has signed a strategic agreement with Mazoon Dairy, a prominent dairy company headquartered in Al Buraimi, Oman. This collaboration highlights Oman Air’s commitment to supporting the local food industry by sourcing dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, laban, and cheese from within the country.
During the signing ceremony, Captain Nasser al Salmi, Chief Operating Officer of Oman Air, emphasized the airline’s dedication to boosting In-Country Value (ICV) by prioritizing Omani suppliers. “This partnership underscores our commitment to procuring locally made products and strengthening domestic supply chains, ensuring that we continue to provide our guests with the highest quality food and beverages sourced from within Oman,” he stated.
Ali Al-Buali, CEO of Mazoon Dairy, described the agreement as a significant milestone for the company, expanding its market presence and aligning with Oman’s vision for economic development. “Today, we offer a diverse range of high-quality products, adhering to the highest industry standards and best practices,” he noted, adding that they aim to meet Oman Air’s expectations by delivering premium dairy products onboard.
This initiative is part of Oman Air’s broader strategy to enhance ICV by fostering partnerships with local businesses, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In 2024, the airline collaborated with 323 Omani companies, including 44 SMEs. Additionally, through its Vendor Development Programme, Oman Air supports SMEs by improving their capabilities and contractual performance, potentially leading to long-term agreements.
This partnership between Oman Air and Mazoon Dairy marks a step forward in strengthening Oman’s dairy industry and promoting economic sustainability, reinforcing the nation’s goal of reducing dependency on imports while supporting local enterprises.
