DuPont, a global innovation leader in science and sustainable solutions headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, United States, has introduced a new reverse osmosis (RO) technology specifically designed for the dairy sector. Launched on July 1, 2025, the FilmTec Hypershell XP RO-8038 aims to boost energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and increase productivity in dairy processing.
DuPont, a global science and technology leader based in Wilmington, Delaware, United States, has introduced a groundbreaking solution for the dairy industry with the launch of the FilmTec Hypershell XP RO-8038 reverse osmosis (RO) element. This innovative product is engineered to significantly enhance energy efficiency and operational productivity for dairy processors.
The launch, officially presented at the Membrane Technology Forum in the United States, targets a key challenge in the dairy sector—rising energy consumption and the need for sustainable production methods. According to DuPont, the new RO element delivers up to 50% higher productivity and consumes less energy compared to conventional filtration systems, making it a game-changer for dairy operations worldwide.
Noel Carr, Global Dairy Market Leader at DuPont, emphasized the solution’s advanced membrane chemistry and its role in reducing both greenhouse gas emissions and processing costs. “This product reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability in the food and beverage sector,” Carr said.
During the forum, Dr. Jie Song, a lead expert at DuPont, elaborated on the technical performance of the element, citing its potential to optimize resource usage without compromising product quality.
As part of the ongoing educational initiative, DuPont will host a webinar on July 10, 2025, to provide industry stakeholders with detailed insights into the FilmTec Hypershell XP RO-8038 and its practical benefits in dairy applications.
The new launch reinforces DuPont’s position as a major enabler of sustainable industrial solutions, particularly in the dairy and food processing industries.
