Argentina’s leading food company Arcor, based in the province of Córdoba, has overhauled its sustainability strategy with new targets for 2025. The company, which holds a 49% stake in dairy giant Mastellone Hnos., is committing to cleaner production, healthier products, and zero landfill waste across its operations.

Arcor, Argentina’s largest food manufacturer headquartered in Córdoba, has announced a renewed commitment to sustainability with a revised strategy aimed at 2025. As a major player in the Latin American food sector, Arcor is setting industry standards through enhanced environmental and nutritional targets.

The group, which also owns a 49% stake in Mastellone Hnos. — one of Argentina’s top dairy companies — plans to strengthen its operations by aligning them with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The new strategy includes three core pillars: healthier product formulation, sustainable production, and zero waste to landfill.

Arcor’s food reformulation plan will see a significant reduction in trans fats, sodium, calories, and sugars across its product range. In addition to recipe optimization, the company is focusing on introducing more nutritious ingredients to meet evolving consumer expectations around health and wellness.

The environmental component of the strategy is equally robust. Several of Arcor’s production plants have already achieved zero waste to landfill, and the company intends to expand this success across all its facilities. These sustainability upgrades are part of Arcor’s broader aim to reduce its environmental impact while reinforcing its commercial footprint in both Argentina and the wider Latin American region.

Arcor’s enhanced roadmap is a signal to the global food industry of how legacy brands in emerging markets can evolve to meet both consumer health priorities and ecological responsibilities.
