Japan’s Morinaga Milk Industry Co. and Indonesia’s PT ABC Kogen Dairy (AKD) have announced their entry into Singapore’s dairy market. The companies will introduce dairy products under Morinaga and AKD’s ‘KIN’ brands, with sales beginning in April 2025. This expansion aligns with Morinaga’s global growth strategy and may lead to further expansion across Asia.

Japan’s Morinaga Milk Industry Co., a leading dairy producer specializing in infant formula, milk-based beverages, and dairy ingredients, has partnered with PT ABC Kogen Dairy (AKD), an Indonesian dairy company, to enter Singapore’s growing dairy market. The companies confirmed that their new product line, including items under both Morinaga and AKD’s ‘KIN’ brands, will be available for purchase starting April 2025.

This strategic expansion follows a basic agreement signed in February 2025, wherein Morinaga and AKD assessed the feasibility of entering Singapore’s competitive dairy sector. Morinaga’s long-term goal is to increase its overseas revenue, targeting at least 15% of total sales from global markets by the fiscal year ending March 2029. The Singapore expansion is a key step in achieving this objective.

AKD, known for its high-quality dairy products in Indonesia, brings its expertise to this collaboration. The company has a strong presence in fresh dairy production, and its KIN brand is well-recognized in Indonesia. By combining Morinaga’s decades of experience in premium dairy production with AKD’s market knowledge, the two firms aim to cater to Singapore’s consumers who demand high-quality dairy options.

Beyond Singapore, Morinaga and AKD are considering further expansion into other Asian countries, particularly Indonesia, where Morinaga has operated since 1979. The Japanese dairy giant has established a strong presence in Indonesia’s formula milk sector and aims to leverage its regional expertise to meet the growing demand for premium dairy products across Asia.

With rising consumer interest in health-conscious and premium dairy products, Morinaga and AKD’s expansion into Singapore could set the stage for broader growth in the Asian dairy market. The companies remain committed to delivering high-quality, nutritious dairy products to consumers in the region.
