In the United Kingdom, Arla Foods has announced that it will maintain its milk prices for British farmers in June 2025, citing stable global market conditions and steady consumer demand.
Arla Foods, a global dairy cooperative headquartered in Denmark with a significant presence in the United Kingdom, has announced it will maintain its milk prices for British farmers in June 2025. This decision reflects stable international dairy commodity prices and a slight increase in global milk supply.
For June, the on-account price remains at 48.02p per litre for conventional milk and 58.01ppl for organic milk. Arla’s UK operations are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and the cooperative is collectively owned by over 8,000 European dairy farmers, including many from the UK.
A spokesperson from Arla noted that current market conditions support a consistent pricing approach, helping provide predictability for farmer-owners amidst broader supply chain fluctuations. “Our primary focus remains the long-term stability and resilience of our farmers,” the spokesperson said.
In contrast, suppliers working with First Milk — a UK-based farmer-owned cooperative — will see a reduction of 0.5ppl in June, marking the first price drop since December 2024.
The organic milk market continues to show resilience, with demand holding steady and no price volatility expected in the short term. Arla’s commitment to its organic producers supports a cautiously optimistic outlook for sustainable farming in the region.
This price stability comes as good news for British dairy farmers navigating unpredictable climate and market conditions, and strengthens Arla’s position as a reliable buyer in the UK’s competitive dairy landscape.
