GEA Group, a leading German engineering firm specializing in food and dairy technology, inaugurated a state-of-the-art training center in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. The center aims to enhance local expertise in dairy technologies and support the country’s Vision 2030 by promoting self-reliance, food security, and technological modernisation in agriculture.
GEA Group, a German multinational known for its advanced process technology and engineering solutions for the food and beverage sector, has opened a new dairy training center in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. This move marks a significant step toward modernising the country’s agricultural sector and building homegrown technical capabilities in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The newly launched facility is designed to offer hands-on training using state-of-the-art dairy equipment, including milking and cooling systems. It will cater to operators, technicians, and farm managers across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
A spokesperson for GEA stated, “Training is not an add-on; it is at the core of sustainable operations.” The center aims to reduce dependence on foreign expertise by empowering local professionals with the skills needed to operate complex dairy systems.
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative places strong emphasis on strengthening food security, developing local industries, and encouraging foreign investment. GEA’s investment aligns with these goals, contributing both to economic diversification and sustainable food production.
The Middle East, with its high temperatures, water scarcity, and growing demand for protein, poses unique challenges to agriculture. GEA’s expansion into training services within the region signifies a long-term commitment to transforming these challenges into opportunities through smart technologies and skill development.
By investing in such infrastructure, GEA is not just selling solutions — it is helping to build the region’s future in dairy production from the ground up.
