The a2 Milk Company has launched its premium a2 Platinum product range in Vietnam, featuring milk drinks and powders sourced from cows that naturally produce A2-type beta-casein protein. This entry into the Vietnamese market marks a significant step for the New Zealand-based company, which aims to cater to the growing demand for health-focused dairy products.
The a2 Milk Company (a2MC) has officially entered the Vietnamese market, introducing six premium products, including the a2 Platinum junior milk drink, nutrition for mothers, milk powders, and UHT long-life full-cream milk. The launch marks a significant milestone for the New Zealand-based company, which specializes in A2-type beta-casein protein milk sourced from cows that naturally produce this healthier milk variant.
In September, a2MC hosted a launch event for its a2 Platinum early life nutrition range in collaboration with local retailer partners in Hanoi. This event was complemented by the company’s presence at the VietBaby Fair on September 26, where they showcased their products to a broader audience. Retail distribution of the a2 Platinum range began in late August to prepare for the fair, indicating a strategic approach to penetrate the Vietnamese market effectively.
Yohan Senaratne, the international managing director for a2MC, noted that Vietnam is becoming an increasingly mature market with a growing appetite for reputable and quality products. At the VietBaby Fair, a2MC collaborated with local distributor Live Well to enhance its outreach. Managing director David Bortolussi engaged with local distributors and officials, while chief science advisor Dr. Andrew Clarke hosted a seminar highlighting the benefits of A1 protein-free milk.
Senaratne emphasized the company’s commitment to raising awareness about the unique benefits of their dairy products, which are free from artificial growth hormones and antibiotics. “Our early life nutrition products and milk powders are made with milk from New Zealand’s famously rich and pure dairy regions,” he stated.
The launch event and participation in the VietBaby Fair attracted representatives from New Zealand’s embassy in Vietnam and guest speakers from Vietnam’s National Institute of Nutrition, underlining the collaborative effort to introduce these innovative products to Vietnamese consumers.
As a2 Milk Company continues to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia, its entry into Vietnam is poised to cater to the growing demand for premium, health-focused dairy products in the region.
