DeLaval has won the AgTech Breakthrough Award for ‘Overall Agriculture Robotics Solution of the Year’ with its TSR2 teat spray robot. The TSR2, launched in late 2023, enhances dairy farming efficiency by automating teat spraying with high precision. The award underscores DeLaval’s innovation in agricultural technology, improving cow health and operational effectiveness.
DeLaval, a global leader in dairy farming technology, has been awarded the prestigious AgTech Breakthrough Award for the second consecutive year. The company has been recognized as the ‘Overall Agriculture Robotics Solution of the Year’ for its TSR2 teat spray robot. This accolade highlights DeLaval’s commitment to advancing agricultural technology through innovation and robotics.
Breakthrough Technology in Dairy Farming
On August 30, 2024, DeLaval received the AgTech Breakthrough Award for its TSR2 teat spray robot, marking a notable achievement for the company. The award, presented by the AgTech Breakthrough Awards, recognizes the TSR2 as the leading agriculture robotics solution of the year.
Jeff Hahn, DeLaval’s Solution Manager for Rotaries in North America, emphasized the significance of this recognition, stating, “This award underscores our commitment to enhancing dairy farming through advanced technology. The TSR2 has redefined teat spraying with its blend of precision, speed, and reliability. The new model is 20% faster than its predecessor and can spray up to one cow every six seconds, achieving a rate of 600 cows per hour.”
Enhancing Cow Health and Operational Efficiency
Introduced in late 2023, the TSR2 teat spray robot is designed to optimize the pre- and post-teat spray application process in rotary milking systems. The robot leverages DeLaval InSight™ camera technology to ensure precise teat identification and spray accuracy of up to 99%. This intelligent automation not only improves cow health but also enhances operational efficiency by reducing labor and increasing cash flow. The TSR2’s precision application also minimizes environmental impact and promotes sustainable farming practices by reducing the use of teat dip products.
Recognition and Industry Impact
Fernando Cuccioli, Executive Vice President – North & Latin America at DeLaval, expressed his gratitude for the award, stating, “With over 1,900 nominations this year, we are honored to be recognized. Congratulations to our dedicated teams across product development, engineering, supply chain, and field support, including our dealers and sales teams. Their efforts have made it possible for dairy farmers to benefit from cost and labor savings through sustainable innovations like the TSR2.”
The AgTech Breakthrough Awards are known for their rigorous evaluation process, with nominations reviewed by an expert panel of judges representing a range of industry expertise. DeLaval’s TSR2 robot stood out among numerous entries, cementing its position as a leading solution in agricultural robotics.
