The acquisition will enhance production capacity and integrate Natulact’s cheese and dairy product lines into Piracanjuba’s broader brand portfolio. The deal is pending regulatory approval and is expected to preserve around 260 local jobs.
Grupo Piracanjuba, one of Brazil’s largest dairy companies known for its extensive portfolio of over 200 products under brands such as Piracanjuba, Emana, and LeitBom, has announced the acquisition of Natulact, a dairy producer based in Sergipe. This marks Piracanjuba’s first manufacturing site in Brazil’s north-east region, underscoring a strategic expansion aimed at boosting its market competitiveness and operational capacity.
Founded in Goiás, Piracanjuba is a key player in Brazil’s dairy sector, recognized for its innovation and nationwide distribution. The acquisition of Natulact, located in the municipality of Nossa Senhora da Glória, brings under Piracanjuba’s umbrella a range of cheese and dairy products, including mozzarella and minas frescal, which will be progressively rebranded under the Piracanjuba name.
This strategic move aligns with Piracanjuba’s broader goals to expand its footprint in underserved regions while enhancing production capabilities. The company plans to gradually increase output at the newly acquired facility.
Pending regulatory clearance from Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), the transaction is also expected to retain around 260 jobs at the Natulact facility, supporting local employment and economic continuity.
The acquisition reflects a wider trend of investment in Brazil’s dairy industry, with international and domestic players such as Lactalis also focusing on the region’s growing dairy market potential.
