Nestlé Nigeria PLC, a subsidiary of the global food and beverage giant Nestlé, has teamed up with Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Livestock Development to launch the Dairy Technical Skills Development Program, an initiative aimed at enhancing the capabilities of local dairy farmers.
The announcement was made during World Milk Day celebrations in Abuja, Nigeria, where a Letter of Intent was signed to formalize the partnership. This program forms part of a broader national effort to strengthen the dairy value chain and is aligned with the National Livestock Growth Acceleration Strategy.
Targeting mid-level technical and vocational skills, the initiative is designed to increase both the quality and volume of locally produced milk. It provides structured support to cooperatives and individuals through technical assistance, training modules, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
By equipping producers with relevant knowledge and technical capabilities, we are not only improving dairy output but also directly impacting the livelihoods of thousands of Nigerian farmers.”
