Mexico’s Liconsa Dairy Plant in Campeche is set for a major technological upgrade through an international tender. The plant, located in the Bicentennial Industrial Park, aims to increase milk production to 100 million liters annually by 2026, strengthening the dairy sector and local economy.
Liconsa, a Mexican government-owned dairy company specializing in milk production and distribution, is preparing to modernize its dairy processing plant in Campeche. The upcoming global tender aims to equip the facility with cutting-edge technology, enhancing its production capacity from 45 million to 100 million liters annually by 2026.
The plant, located in the Bicentennial Industrial Park in San Francisco de Campeche, is expected to become one of the most advanced dairy facilities worldwide. According to Abid Moo Cruz, the state manager of Liconsa, this project aligns with national strategies under President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and will play a key role in Mexico’s dairy and livestock sector development.
While details of the tender process remain confidential to ensure fair bidding, Moo Cruz emphasized the project’s importance for local economic growth. The initiative coincides with broader economic development plans on the Yucatán Peninsula, including strategic agreements signed during the “Orgullo Peninsular” meeting attended by Campeche’s Governor Layda Sansores San Román, Quintana Roo’s Mara Lezama Espinosa, and Yucatán’s Joaquín Díaz Mena.
