Tetra Pak endorses the Paris Dairy Declaration on Sustainability at COP29 in Baku, emphasizing the dairy sector’s role in sustainable development and climate action.
Tetra Pak, a global leader in food processing and packaging solutions, has officially endorsed the Paris Dairy Declaration on Sustainability at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. This pivotal endorsement, made during a bilateral meeting between Tetra Pak’s Executive Vice President for Processing Solutions and Equipment, Charles Brand, and the International Dairy Federation (IDF) President, Gilles Froment, underscores the dairy sector’s dedication to sustainability and climate action.
The Paris Dairy Declaration on Sustainability was originally launched by the International Dairy Federation (IDF) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) during the IDF World Dairy Summit in October 2024 in Paris. The Declaration aims to reaffirm the dairy industry’s commitment to a sustainable transformation across the entire value chain, encompassing environmental, social, and economic dimensions. It also highlights the dairy sector’s contributions towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), building on the foundation laid by the Dairy Declaration of Rotterdam in 2016.
Charles Brand, Executive Vice President at Tetra Pak, emphasized that sustainability is at the heart of the company’s mission, which has a long history within the dairy industry.
“The Paris Dairy Declaration on Sustainability is an important statement on the dairy sector’s commitment to a sustainable transformation of the whole value chain. Dairy is at the core of our food systems targets where we commit to driving change and being a positive influence on the way food systems can work in the future,” said Brand.”

“this endorsement by a leading company like Tetra Pak amplifies the impact of the Paris Dairy Declaration on Sustainability and exemplifies the global dairy sector’s commitment to climate action and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”

With the endorsement, Tetra Pak demonstrates its continued leadership in sustainability, inviting other dairy organizations and leaders to support the Declaration, which aims to drive transformative change in the industry and contribute to the global fight against climate change.
