Trust for Trading Co, a Qatari company, plans to breed dairy camels in Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region. This collaboration aims to supply local farmers with camels for milk production, supporting the growing camel dairy industry and economic development in the region.
Trust for Trading Co, a Qatari-based company, has announced plans to breed dairy camels in Kazakhstan’s Turkestan region. The company, which specializes in livestock and meat exportation, intends to supply dairy camels to local farmers, supporting the growing camel milk market in the region. This move is part of a broader collaboration with local authorities to boost agricultural production and create economic opportunities.
In a recent meeting between Deputy Akim of Turkestan region, Nuralkhan Kosherov, and Trust for Trading Co’s CEO Saleh Jaber Al Mari, the details of the project were discussed. The company plans to import dairy camels from Qatar, breed them locally, and sell them to farmers who will then supply camel milk to the Golden Camel processing plant in Turkestan. Golden Camel currently purchases camel milk at 850 tenge per liter, using it to produce dry milk products for export, including to China. With this new project, the company aims to increase its milk supply, further developing the camel dairy industry in the region.
To encourage local production, the possibility of offering preferential loans to farmers was discussed, helping them expand their operations and market camel milk more effectively. The akimat also emphasized that the project would contribute to regional economic growth and job creation. If the initiative is approved, the government plans to provide a site with the necessary infrastructure for the project.
Trust for Trading Co is a subsidiary of a large international livestock holding company that operates across several countries, including Australia, Turkey, Brazil, Uruguay, Romania, and Jordan. The company is known for its livestock exports to the Persian Gulf and other regions and owns a fleet of specialized vessels for transporting cattle and sheep. This new project marks an important step in the company’s expansion into the Central Asian dairy market, bringing expertise and investment to Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.
