Dairy industry leaders across the United States are preparing for a pivotal event that will address proposed changes to federal milk pricing regulations. The National Federal Milk Marketing Orders (FMMOs) Workshop, hosted by Professional Dairy Producers (PDP), is scheduled for September 18th at the Sheraton Madison Hotel in Wisconsin.

Established as a leading voice in dairy advocacy and education, PDP is dedicated to advancing the dairy industry through professional development and policy insights. This workshop aims to provide dairy producers with crucial information about the most significant federal milk pricing changes in over 20 years.

Workshop Details

The event will bring together stakeholders from all eleven FMMOs to discuss the potential impacts of the proposed amendments. Key topics include:

  • Rationale for Changes: Exploring the reasoning behind the proposed modifications.
  • Regional Impacts: Assessing how the changes might affect producers, processors, and consumers in different regions.

  • Farm Bill Correlation: Considering how the proposed changes may align with adjustments in the upcoming Farm Bill.

The workshop will feature presentations from nine industry experts, including Mike Brown, Chief Economist for the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), and Dr. Chris Wolf, E.V. Baker Professor of Agricultural Economics at Cornell University.

Attendance and Registration

Participants can choose from three attendance formats: in-person, livestream, or recorded sessions. The in-person event will provide opportunities for face-to-face interactions and discussions over lunch. All attendance options require a $59 registration fee.
