The Uttarakhand government has released a Rs 16 crore incentive for over 50,000 milk producers associated with the Uttarakhand Anchal Dairy Federation. The funds, allocated through DBT, aim to clear outstanding payments and provide relief to milk producers across the state.

The milk producers of Uttarakhand have received a significant boost as the state government has released outstanding incentives worth Rs 16 crore. This financial aid is aimed at supporting over 50,000 milk producers associated with Uttarakhand Anchal Dairy, a key player in the state’s dairy sector.

Incentive Distribution to Milk Producers

The incentive amount, released by the Uttarakhand Dairy Federation, will be directly transferred to the accounts of milk producers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This move is expected to provide much-needed relief to dairy farmers who have been waiting for their payments for a considerable period. The funds are distributed among various milk producers, with Rs 15 crore allocated to general class producers and Rs 1 crore specifically earmarked for SC and ST producers.

Government Support for Dairy Sector

Sanjay Khetwal, Director of Uttarakhand Dairy Cooperative, highlighted that the incentives are part of the government’s continued efforts to support dairy farmers in the state. He mentioned that the allocation process has already started, ensuring that all outstanding incentives are cleared. This initiative is set to benefit thousands of milk producers associated with different milk associations within the region.

Boost to Dairy Farming in Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand government provides an additional Rs 4 per liter as an incentive along with the milk price to promote dairy farming under the Uttarakhand Dairy Federation and Anchal Dairy. This additional support has been instrumental in encouraging local dairy farmers to increase milk production, thereby boosting the state’s dairy industry. However, the delay in releasing these incentives had caused concern among milk producers, impacting their operations.

Relief for Milk Producers

The release of Rs 16 crore as an incentive has brought relief to milk producers across the state. With the outstanding payments now being processed, farmers can look forward to continuing their dairy operations without financial strain. The timely release of these funds is expected to stabilize the dairy market in Uttarakhand and ensure that milk producers remain motivated to enhance their production capabilities.

Sanjay Khetwal expressed optimism, stating that the incentive release marks the end of pending dues, allowing more than 50,000 milk producers to receive their rightful benefits. This initiative aligns with the state’s goal of fostering a robust dairy sector and supporting the livelihoods of thousands of dairy farmers across Uttarakhand.

The government’s proactive stance in addressing the concerns of dairy farmers and its commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural practices is a positive step toward ensuring the long-term growth of the dairy sector in Uttarakhand, India.
